The second one in RRR is okay, but the fluffed screeching feedback first one is very bad. Worst start-of-solo I ever heard.
As for the rest, I actually prefer Sterling solos such as "Guess I'm Falling in Love" and "White Light/White Heat" (1993 live).

Some great guitar solos off the top of my head (there's probably more)...
Lou: "What Goes On" album version (out of this world!), "I Can't Stand It" 1969 Live version.
Sterl: "I'm Set Free", "That's Story Of My Life", "I'm Waiting For The Man" Live At Max's Kansas City version ("alright Sterl!"), "Rock & Roll" Live MCMXCIII version.
Doug: "Rock & Roll" Loaded version, "One Of These Days" slide guitar at the end.

When people mention solos it always makes me think of Spinal Tap for some reason lol!!!
I'm not actually a fan of solos to be honest. They seem far better suited to free jazz than any other types of music. I can't really think of one from the VU which stands out to me but if I think I'd pick European Son as my favourite.

Morrison: Over You (Live 1969)
Reed: Hey Mr Rain (1993) is pretty good. Of course Heard Her Call My Name second solo, but that has been said so many times already...
