Ultra Rare Trax 1-4 board members will note that the shns of UR TRax #1 from this Vine I Was Talking About, were from mp3, but flac is a non-lossy compression format

OK, I've got insomnia again tonite, so here are some thoughts:

First, I was never a part of the original vine. Also, if there is a disc discovered to be MP3 sourced it should no longer be included in the vine. I say stick to Dimeadozen.org's rules when it comes to that. And when incomplete shows are circulated widely, that dilutes the pool. When you circualte a show, try to find the most complete version possible before posting/trading it!

I wouldn't even bother with this, now that the Rosie Lee lossless version is in wide circulation.

The First Night

This is actually a 23-song collection. CD1 and CD2 trax 1-7 are from the performance. CD2 trax 8-12 are demos/live (you know, Countess from Hong Kong, Real Good Time Together, etc). My guess is that the version circulated on Dime had removed the officially released trax, just like the Charlton FC show (see below).

NOTE: This show circulates with a 7th track, the USA single version of Charley's Girl. That track has been removed from this torrent.

Holy crap, what a difference this is from the previous show in Copenhagen! Lou is on fire and completely into the performance. Just listen to him ad lib throughout "Vicious." "Heroin" is also outstanding, with Fonfara's church organs just bleeding out of the speakers.

The sound quality is pretty good. There is definitely some tape hiss, but I don't think it detracts much at all from the recording. On the "Rock 'N Roll Animal Webpage," Enrique Miguel is not sure if this is a soundboard or audience recording. I do NOT think this is an audience recording judging by the distant cheers that make it onto the recording. To be honest, I don't think it's a SBD either. I would guess this was an FM broadcast. I emphasize that I am GUESSING.

Danny Weis does a particularly good job this night. His unique "picking" style is one of the highlights here.

OK, everyone! Enjoy another great sounding show from the Sally Tour. I really appreciate so many of you continuing to seed other shows for weeks after I upload them - that makes me more than happy to upload even more. As usual, I did not use any sound filters/declicking/EQ at all here. This is exactly how it sounds on my recording.

Now, go find the 45-rpm USA version of Charley's Girl and tack it on as track 7!

I don't know why this is on a separate thread, but here goes:

The version of the Bedroom tape may be the version I cooked up that I think I gave to GroovyMusic (the original source of the vine).
I cleaned up some hiss, and divided all songs and takes into individual tracks, edited out some noises and dogs barking etc. Makes it more listenable.
The source I used was a disc from the Walk With vol 2 set that I got in a trade. I don't remember that boot having anything else that was intersesting at all. I wouldn't say it was crucial that its on the vine, but if there's room on the disc...

Likewise the Rarities CD was just a random sampler of stuff that someone put together, some harder to find than others, but all available on some boot or other. I got this in trade too, original source unknown - probably someone on this forum. The most interesting bit is the short 1967 recordings from the Glass House Merce Cunningham benefit - small bits of Venus in Furs and IWFTM.

As MG says - At The Andy Warhol Museum is a totally redundant redundant early version of what is now referred to as the Warhol Tapess or the Rosie Lee stuff.

I'm pretty sure the dime collection referenced in the original post also includes "Sister Ray" from the "Live At End Cole Ave" boot to make the complete performance from 10/18.
