Saw this posted over at Waxidermy & i just had to share (thanks to Sakedelic for posting).
This will either have you laughing or horrified......or maybe both in equal measure:
I checked out this clip for the first time this morning and then I got lost in the comments.
Since I have wasted the time already, I've compiled some of the more 'insightful' comments here for you, so you won't have to wade through them all yourself to glean all this wisdom:
"I thought they were a 90s band"
"They must've done something more groundbreaking (and less repetitive) than this."
(note: the track is looped and plays twice during the clip)
"This is the only song I have listened to since 1999."
"I miss? how things from the 70's were so timeless..."
"They influenced New York."
"The Velevet Underground were just Warhol's puppets, like The Monkees."
"There are two types of? people: Those that like Velvet Underground and those who like Maroon 5. I fit into the latter because they are who Velvet Underground copied."
"This song is so great. It makes me feel? like a 14th century Chinese kung fu warrior."
Commenter 34,581: "Hey wasn"t? that Debbie Harry in the begining?"
Commenter 34,582: "no it was nico.their? current female singer."
"why? is the banana with the girl?"
"This band pretty much invented everything.?"
"Nobody knows these idiots except indie hipsters"
"this album didn't sold much, but almost all those whom bought it became famous."
"now u cant feel emotions like velvet and other bands and singers colud transmit in those? years... iwould pay anything to go to CBGB in those years"
"wow, I wonder where lady gaga got? inspired ?"
"this song could have been on sgt. peppers, easily"
"is this the band with? malcom young?"
"This song does NOT need to be 6 minutes long. Talk about repetitive.?"
"when did this video come out??"
"In the last chorus what does Nico sing??"
"I own the CD."
"This is early? 70's."
"These guys ruled the New York sene for? years."
"these dudes were hippies so i wouldn't be proud to like them"
"Sounds outdated and pales in comparison to modern stuff like Linkin Park, who make the Beatles sound like a? bunch of amateurs."
