PS: seems that both Phil Milstein and Mike Kostek started their career as VU-scribes in that very student paper [Massachusetts Daily Collegian], just search for their names in the archived collection of the University of Massachusetts Amherst Libraries
1972-10-31: Lady Mitchell Hall, Cambridge University, Cambridge
i.e. same venue as for the show on 13th October. I am in contact with a guy who saw both shows - apparently the 1st show went so well they booked Lou again.
There's also a gig labelled 'Live 15.5.1973' with following songs :
SJ (cut) 1'37 (from Bootblogger)/
WOTWS 6'11/
RAR 5'53/
Applause 1'17/
SR 15'46 (so 30'44)
with Moogy Klingman Band on WV.
--coming soon--
Rock singer Lou Reed - charter member of the "Velvet Underground' - in concert. Alexander Hall, Princeton University. Monday, May 14 at 8pm.
additional: repeated next week's issue 1973.May.10, page 2 [n129]
note: Princeton Theological Seminary not to be confused with Princeton University...
Thank you, this date poses a problem because on "Wolfgang's" ("Bill Graham Archives and affiliates"), I remember that when "vaults" were added, the concert of the 15.5 (to which we must add 'I'm so free' cut after Sweet Jane) was recorded on the West Coast.
I think that 14th May is the correct date from Princeton. In my files I have:
13th May: Youngstown State University
14th May: Princeton University
17th May: Montreal
18th May: Philadelphia
19th May: Harrisburg
etc etc
I have no idea where the "15th May" recording is from....
