Everything in RED is a change/addition to the Rock N Roll Animal website. I know that there are other dates posted to various concert databases, but I have only added information that I found proof for through ads, old newspapers, concert stubs, etc. None of the new info was taken from a generic database like setlist.fm.

Re: Lou Reed Gigography - Research Results (1978)
Originally on 11 August 1978 a concert was planned in Leiden [NED], but cancelled because of poor ticket sales.
Here's a Dutch newspaper article about it
https://leiden.courant.nu/issue/LD/1978 ... Lou%20reed
Also includes some info about the 1977 concerts in Holland:
--Reed was several times "ill"
--2nd concert in Amsterdam was far from sold out, and a later concert in Groningen cancelled [was "ill"]
--performance in a TV show [not mentioned which] was cancelled because Lou couldn't play live and he didn't want to do playback [so "ill" again]

Thanks! I've added the 11 August date. Anything more specific about the other performances/cancellations you mentioned?mangue wrote: ↑22 Jun 2020 16:53 Also includes some info about the 1977 concerts in Holland:

Re: Lou Reed Gigography - Research Results (1978)
1978 concerts in both Leiden and Groningen Cancelled [and replaced with one on Aug.12 in Amsterdam]
https://leiden.courant.nu/issue/LLC/197 ... Lou%20Reed
Mentions that Leiden [Aug.11] had poor poor ticket sales. While for Groningen hardly any tickets were sold, because of a by some organised action against the high ticket price [25 Guilders = ca.22.5 DM; now ca.11.5 Euro].
Note the Jaap Edenhal in Amsterdam is a much smaller venue than the cancelled Groenoordhal in Leiden [only some 4.500 against originally 11.000].
Found a review of the 1978.Aug.12 concert in Amsterdam: Lou Reed only a shadow of himself
https://leiden.courant.nu/issue/LLC/197 ... Lou%20Reed
The first part of the concert wasn't very good, played a.o."Sweet Jane", "Coney Island Baby" and "Rock and Roll". After about an hour cans were thrown at the stage, Lou stopped the show and disappeared. He let it be announced that he would not return if there would be anymore throwing. After some 15 minutes he reappeared, continued with "Walk on the Wilde Side". The concert got better, Lou seemed to be more inspired after and/or because of the incident, played a very good "Street Hassle" and, as encore, "Heroin". The public tried for another encore, but Lou Reed didn't show up anymore.

Re: Lou Reed Gigography - Research Results (1978)
It would appear that there were two shows each night over four nights at the Old Waldorf:

Thank you for all of your work on this. I've been organizing my 300+ Lou shows to share, and this has helped fill in some gaps for the info files for sure!
I have everything from 1970-1977 done, and I'm about half-finished with 1978.
