Amazon offers the 6CD-Set to download for free (MP3). What you need is the amazon music-downloader, that's all. the reissue was in October and only 8 month later it's for free. Could it be, that this set is (was) a leftovers?

What happened is ... Amazon launched their AutoRip feature. Every time you buy a cd you get a free download. And they have even backdated it to 1998 (unbelievably).
So - cds you have bought from Amazon - even back to 1998 - you get a free D/L.
In fact - as soon as you purchase a cd - you get the D/L straight away.
(Not sure if its on all titles - but that's the story).

Yeah, I thought that might be it, but I bought it from Amazon (US) and no Auto-Rip icon comes up.
OTOH tons of CD's that I bought on Amazon ages ago, including ones I've since sold, are available to listen
to in the Cloud or to download!

I'd like to download copies of stuff I've given away as presents but I just get a screen asking for my credit card details (which they already have). Has anyone ventured past that screen - or avoided it somehow?
