Searching for VU in the Dutch public media archive* [beeldengeluid.nl] came across:
If You Close The Door - Doe de Deur Maar Dicht [Dutch 're-translation']

The duo Clean Pete reinterpreted their own pop favorites [from the Velvet Underground to the Sugababes...].
Their album was released on 2020 November 06, radioshow 'De Nieuws BV' gave live previews.
Together with gitarist Anne Soldaat the sisters played their version of If You Close The Door by Velvet Underground:

*hoping to find broadcasting info about the radioshow "Popnamen" with special[s] about former members of the Velvet Underground [ca.1972], alas unsuccessful. Anybody here has any info about this/these show[s]? broadcasting date[s], contents, or even may be recordings...

Recommended by Maureen in a 1990s interview I found it at soundcloud:
The Changelings - Sunday Morning
https://soundcloud.com/thechangelings/sunday-morning

And during my search came across this, to me unknown, one:
Rainy Day - I'll Be Your Mirror
https://soundcloud.com/alx-nic-dib/008- ... smith-1984

wikipedia: "Rainy Day was an all-star Paisley Underground band, a collaborative project composed of members of Los Angeles-based bands including the Dream Syndicate [!check your Up-tight book!], the Three O'Clock, Rain Parade and the Bangles."

They made one imho brilliant, covers only, album in 1984, highly recommended; and btw the opening track is their version of "I'll Keep It WIth Mine"...

talking of cover versions: has anyone here heard the country and western - style cover of "I Heard Her Call My Name"? I think it's amazing but I've never been able to find out who it is.

no - not that one. I'll put a link below to my Dropbox account where you can find the one I mean. It dates back to the 1990s anyway. Just 1 guy with an acoustic guitar. Once you're heard it you won't forget it!
