Awesome upgrade of VU. Uptight, even Nico's Screen test film looks brighter&clean,I wonder if Danny Williams was working out on Vox amplifier or just setting up other spotlight on stage at the NY Filmmakers' Cinemateque,feb.66. :D :D

What an amazing image, Taxine! This group was supremely well-suited to chiaroscuro effect.

Any idea who took this shot, or what it comes from?

I got the feelin' that "everyone" pictured VU.that month at Filmakers, but notice that there's no Edie Sedgwick dacing along with Gerald so likely this picture was took later Adan Ritchie's set dated early february....hardly remember that comes out from some 60' beat magazine article, but just speak from the top of my head,COOL picture indeed.

Not VU but I like this image of Reed (circa Sally?) The days when he had a good hair stylist.

1974 was his last magical mystery tour, after that despite Doug playing in 1975 (with the unbearable saxophone), it was a nightmare to listen to and to watch at it. He wasn't there anymore.

It's odd that you state your opinion as if it's fact.

'He wasn't there anymore.' I don't know, but to me, it sounds like someone's personal feelings, rather than statement of fact.

I thought it was accepted fact that the most interesting solo live Lou years were from 75-78/79 :?:

Well without being pedantic about it a subjective opinion, i.e. this performance was better than that performance, can never be "accepted fact", even if it's an opinion 99% of people share. But I didn't read dial4's post as a statement of fact, I just read it as expressing an opinion - isn't that what forums such as this are for?
