Close CUT banana is the one used by Verve on the 1969 Hollywood pressing but it was NO Emerson and Stereo only.

Modern-fake sticker? I think so...

I agree. It's always odd to see an almost pristine banana when the rest of the sleeve is pretty much trashed....it doesn't happen like that in the real world

Here is another one of those odd-duck Japanese vinyl Promo test pressings. (sorry, never figured out how to put a pic here)

I don't think so; I have one for my personal use and it isn't close cut banana. I've seen a few stickers and never seen a close cut one. But hey, I don't devour eBay Velvets listings any more either, so...

Hi Rick
Pls clarify what do you have?
Sticker: if you have closer look (using the maginifier ebay provide) you can see both ends of the banana some glue from the original sticker (bigger than the close-cut).

I have a VU/Nico that I added a banana label to. It was the replica that came with the WGO #5 VUAS 2 box set from mike Kostek. I put it on a copy I had with sticker missing.

I also used the close up tool and the glue looks to me like remnants of scotch tape in the corner more than glue from original sticker; but I could be wrong.

I just noticed that Orange Disaster went for over $800 on Ebay! Crucially, the seller made a point of highlighting the Warhol artwork; still it's a surprising amount to me - certainly when these boots aren't anything to do with Warhol anyway. Next time I see a Warhol artwork in a newspaper I might try selling the paper on Ebay, maybe make a tidy sum

I've seen a blog that promotes 'Warhol' covers.
http://warholcovers.wordpress.com/
But he doesn't seem able to distinguish between covers designed by Warhol, covers that feature reproductions of Warhol art and covers that feature Warhol-style art by other people. He featured the lips and coke bottle double compilation LP. An email exchange with him about the real illustrator-designer of that LP seemed to reveal that he had little interest in facts. A bit sad but maybe more evidence of a kind of myopic Warhol hysteria ...

One of the VU covers he features only has Andy Warhol in the back cover credits.

I think all you really need to do is make something vaguely appropriate and print Andy Warhol's name on it. Of course he predicted this. Clever guy.
