Maybe it was recorded by the same guy who recorded the Guitar Amp Tapes. hehe, and he just wanted to put the recorder in Lou's amp.
Weird that the rest of the band doesnt come through. But that buzzing noise in the background does sort of sound like a TV type of buzz.

Correct - the instrumental version from Another View was remixed for the WLWH 45th anniversary edition, so the multitrack must have been preserved and useable, and with no signs of tape damage. So it's unlikely that this version had a vocal track and that tape damage only affected the vocal track

My assumption was that the version with the vocals, was a different session/recording/version and that was the one that had tape damage (on the whole take).

I wish I could find the interview again. My assumption after reading the interview is that it was a different version. At least a different tape. He said the version with vocal had tape damage and he remembered there was an instrumental version, which they then found. This is from memory but it was Morrison speaking.

Taxine -

This is a FLAC made from the OGG/Pus file I got from youtoob, so it will probably not bear recompression.

EDIT. PM'd you instead

Anyone else want it please let me know by PM

I saw mention of the two Gymnasium versions, and realised I only had the version on the WLWH 45th edition

Tracked down the other one on youtube (I think someone said that Cale played this version on a radio show)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDSJggL5FB0

While it is clearly different to this purported Upbeat version - it does have a very similar sound in terms of no drums/bass or at least inaudible

Other pointers to the Upbeat version being genuine are that it's abbreviated down to less than 3 minutes, which is by far the shortest version, and remarkable restraint for the Cale-era if it was a regular live show. They would have been asked to keep it brief if it was a TV slot

Also - the guitar lick in the stop after the first bridge (around the 1 minute mark) is vastly different to the later versions, so suggests an early take before that lick was standardised to the way it's played on the studio instrumental and the other live versions

I thought you would enjoy it Alfredo! I am still wondering why one of us has not found it before.

one possible reason nobody saw it before is the uploader had a typo or something in the description that he corrected recently. Pre-covid I used to listen to Lou + VU live stuff + bootlegs on YouTube a lot when working alone, i'm sure this would have come up in searches or suggested vids based on searches...

May be Simon but it looks to me as if his focus is on American political material. Hard to imagine him suddenly correcting an error made 6 years ago. You can see in my earlier post how I came across it - not exactly hidden in any way. And i was just following a comment/link from someone else who had obviously found it as well (and who knew enough to be confident that it wasn't just another misrepresented gymnasium recording). All very strange.
