Velvet Underground: A New York Art?
Re: Velvet Underground: A New York Art?
Got the book today.I agree it is great book, lots of great photos & stuff, but I'm disappointed with the concert posters & the ads section. Is quite of a mess they are spread randomly around the book ,I would have made a kind of day by day section with all the posters flyers & ads listed & pictured as Oliver did on the site.I mean 3 books showed up almost at the same time & still lots of missing.Just to name one, regarding the march 31st Village Gate ball, there is just a little mentions of the show, There is a full page report on the E.V.O.of the week after, there is a full page advertising poster different from the one in the book.that night the Velvet played after a mantra of Ginsberg & Orlowski ,a speech of dr.Timothy Leary,a set of the Fugs plus 3 other bands & the only report in the book is that somebody called them trash & Frank Sumatra showed up & run away.Back on the other books,I think that the Day by Day is a great book & the de Rogatis one came out in the wrong moment .Too much meat on the fire makes a lot of smoke. Now that we have got all this paper is time to see some shows so I hope that Wolfgang open his vault for Fillmore & Avalon ,and the Warhol museum unzipp his pants & show us something cool.Greatings from Thailand,Alex

Well us U.K. Buyers have only just received our copies.
Got mine about three hours ago.
Great to see the three signatures (yes, Doug's is smudged).
Superb package.
Have only managed to flick through it quickly & looks impressive.
A very nice Xmas present to myself despite the long long wait.
