John Cale to play one off gig with Patti Smith in London

Patti Smith is curating the annual meltdown festival in London and one of the gigs lined up is "Patti Smith and special guest John Cale will perform 'Horses'" on Saturday June 25th at the Royal Festival Hall

Of course John Cale produced Patti's seminal 'Horses' album but he didn't play on it (apart from the bonus live cover of 'My Generation' from the remastered edition). But now he's going to perform the album live with her for a one-off show which I for one am really excited about! Wonder what he's gonna play, bass, keyboards, viola, celeste, all of the above? The very thought makes one go weak at the knees...

I've got my ticket and can't wait - I really hope Cale goes mad and pounds that piano to death!

John Cale will perform Horses with Patti Smith at the Meltdown festival as you may know. Supporting them are members of a great local (for me that is) band called Steamboat Switzerland. At this link you can download some of there great music.
