The whole "Moe Tucker's copy is a rumor thing" is so stupid. Where do they think "Nothing Songs" came from? Mark Kostek's seen it for himself, and either way, it really wouldn't affect the price. Not that they're going to get much this time around. If every bidder has to be approved, that's going to keep the bidding, as well as the price inflation, low.

The story of the false bid & of the reopening of the auction on ebay has been reported yesterday on CNN.I think that now all the world knows about it.If they dont sell it this time they 'd donate it to the Velvet forum,& let us have this f***in' lucky draw.

I wonder why Saturn wasn't obliged to just go through the list of bids until they found someone willing to pay? I thought that was the rule.

They should have wait one week for each bid.Doin this way they've got a lot of free pubblicity too,This thing now is allover the world news.(The Velvet Underground had more publicity from this auction than in 40 years,this is scary.)by the way I dont think this is the site to try to sell your trash,I mean why should we care of old stinkin' back issues of GOLDMINE?

The seller is not obligated to go through the list and offer it to the next person in line. They can, if they want, send a Second Chance Offer to any of the other bidders. However, since 99% of the other bids were probably phony too, it shouldn't make much difference.
