Please post order information for the catalogue as soon as you know it! Also, will the items for sale be posted online, or do you have to go in person to see and order?

mr. star minuta, It is definetly worth the wait... keep checking eBay. It isn't very rare.
And as NYC is a scant 3 hour drive for me, I'll be checking out the Velvets stuff... see you there, Lou!

I will. I don't know if the gallery will make any of the pieces availabe online. I doubt it, though.

Additional info for people who still remember Bettie Serveert: their ex-drummer Berend Dubbe, a huge Velvets fan and driving force behind their V.U. covers tour and Bettie Serveert Plays Venus in Furs and Other Velvet Underground Songs live CD, is to play a V.U. covers set at the exhibit.

The original Dutch news item (off the Nationaal Popinstituut website, http://www.popinstituut.nl/nieuws/beren ... .5201.html):
Nationaal Popinstituut wrote:Berend Dubbe speelt op feestje Velvet Underground

3 april 2007

East 64th street in New York.
Key bits for the very few among you who cannot read Dutch:

"[Dubbe] describes the style in which the songs will be performed as 'soft jazz, original lounge, crooner, Carribean and Schlager'".

"Is [Dubbe] anxious to meet his heroes? Dubbe, laughing: 'I don't think they'll want anything to do with me anymore after hearing my set'".

Thought you'd like to know

The good news, though, as far as I can gather from this news clip, is that Reed, Cale, Tucker and Yule are all to visit the exhibition and are all to attend Dubbe's set, together in the same room!

Best bring along your banana monos and perhaps your Loaded:Fully Loaded copy, maybe you can get both Yule and Cale to sign it

Okay, so I'm guessing from that article that the performance is during the reception on the 12th, but the general public isn't allowed in at all that day?

Also, is their an admission price to see this?

The reception on April 12 is not open to the public. The show runs from April 13 - May 12 and there is no admission fee.

There's a bit more info here:

http://www.johnmcwhinnie.com/currentexh ... index.html

My wife actually priced-up how much it would cost for me to go to this -bless her. But at ?600+, just for flights and accomodation, I think I'm going to have to give it a miss. I will try and get a catalogue though.

For all those of you who are going, have a great time and please let the rest of us know what it was like. I'm green with envy. :(

For those of you who missed it...here's a shot from last night's opening. It was a great turnout capped by an historic photo-op.
