All Tomorrow's Parties single w/picture sleeve sells for $30k; sets discogs record for a 7"

I see that 90's Record Collector article is still being quoted verbatim every time this sleeve gets mentioned anywhere.

Re: Rare, Rarest and Most Expensive VU items
it's time to revive this old thread, not to the dizzying heights of a sealed mono VU&N, but still a relatively rare LP....
a week or so ago i was surprised to see a UK first press 3rd LP in Fair++ condition (uk Record Collector grade, basically one step up from Poor) sold for over £300 on uk ebay - and this week another seller has a copy in Ex condition.
For those not in the know, this is the Val Valentin mix, but it also has a unique variation on the back cover:

Now, the highest discogs price for this is £450, but I think this sale is going to go a lot higher - let's see:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/167255968088 - no affliation of course
fwiw i have a copy, got mine for £70 only about 4-5 yrs ago on discogs from a well known London record shop, i guess you'd say it's VG condition but it sounds really great, very 'alive' /in the room sound.

Re: Rare, Rarest and Most Expensive VU items
oh well, nothing to see here... it still makes no sense for someone to pay £300 for a Fair copy, but this one (Ex cond) sold for £405, which is more in line with discogs price.
