White Light mono yellow label for $501 - not one you see every day:

ETA: Having heard this record in mono form, it's worth every cent of that 500 bucks. It's just a pity I'll never be able to afford it, so I'm thankful for bootleggers and people who post them on blogs :D

re above ^ the mono wl/wh. When I was a kid at college ... around 1977 this was... I told some lad that I was into the VU and he said he had a copy of wl/wh that I could buy off him, so I said 'sure'. When he turned up with it - it wasn't the familiar (to me at the time) toy soldier sleeve - it was the skull sleeve and it was... mono (uk black label Verve). I was not knowledgeable about mono v stereo back then..... in fact - to me - mono was old fashioned and definately not desirable. He wanted ?1.20 for it... but I beat him down to 80p... cuz as I say - it was mono. He told me he had got it from Burgess Hill Saturday market for a pound or so. (for those who don't know Burgess Hill is a nasty little town in Sussex.... don't go there).
(Many years later I got this mono wl/wh signed by Cale, Mo and Sterl.... but that as they say is another story).
any sounds that we feel would detract from the performance has been left in place

If anybody is interested; I got this post on Facebook just now. There are only 3 sets of test pressings available at $499.00! I can't afford these but maybe somebody else is interested. Anyway, good luck and act fast! :D

It says there are three known copies and only one is for sale.

Now we have instant collectors items being custom made for instant hedge fund benefits. Whoever buys it will only buy it for the investment opportunities, I think. Somehow I feel I am probably the only one who finds even the title of this long long thread itself leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

Aside from the fact that's obviously something of a joke, I can imagine a certain MC won't be too happy with something like that letter being circulated.

That is Mike's handwriting, but I can't believe the guy thinks this will bring anywhere near $5K! Especially with the LP & cd versions of the other acetate all around. I would love to know what type of trade Mike was looking for as alluded to in the note? The Japanese to English translation leaves a lot to be desired. I predict, this will not sell! :?
