late for Xmas... sharing my Scepter acetate

Post by LFSDoc »

hi all

a while ago I asked if anybody had tried cleaning up the available copy of the much-talked about Scepter acetate from 1966, but received no reply.
anyway, I was just trying to do that restoration myself, and now I'd like to share it with you.
The final result has been obtained with automatic and manual declicking, and some Eq, etc. Please let me know what you think of it.

Here are the first 5 tracks (uploading them takes ages here!!), I'll post the other ones soon:

http://rapidshare.com/files/9020094/04mirror.flac
http://rapidshare.com/files/9082016/05hero.flac

I'll be also sharing the artwork, when it's done.

cheers

I know, but what could the artwork for The Norman Dolph Acetate possibly be? The scan of the record? ULTIMATE MONOS AND ACETATES?

uh, bad timing then
thanks for pointing us to this other upgrade. judging from a short mp3, it might be cleaner than my version, although mine could be sounding a little fuller. anyway, I'm d/l this version, and let others do the comparison.

Quick question, did you splice in the bits of the edited acetate sampler in your remaster? Also, did you sum to mono/collapse the channels before you de-clicked it?

Thanks!
