Could anyone help and share a FLAC file of the Caught Between The Twisted Stars version of Melody Laughter? Through yousendit maybe? That would be fantastic...

Thanks!
It's had an official release on the Peel Slowly & See boxset so you'll need to buy that if you want it. Any tracks that have been released officially will quite rightly be removed from torrents on most sites.

Of course I have the Peel Slowly & See boxset (and all the officially released VU stuff). But the Peel Slowly version of Melody Laughter is edited (10 minutes or so) and it would be great to get the whole 30 minutes from Caught Between The Twisted Stars.

The fact that is an edit makes no difference...if it did make a difference it wouldn't have been removed from the torrent.

Just a 20 minutes difference...

Dime is very strict about it (even if only a small portion of a song has been officially released, the torrent will be banned) but the rules on The Trader's Den are not so harsh. It would have been allowed to seed the whole Melody Laughter there, but the seeder just uploaded the same stuff as on Dime. Here's what he says: "this was originally omitted for dimeadozen. i still haven't gotten the hang of the different rules and it's nice to see that traders den is more tolerent!"

So don't you think you'd be better off asking on The Trader's Den forums rather than on a forum where ANY official releases are not allowed?

That is exactly why I post 99% of my torrents on Dime. If my torrent is banned for some reason other than "officially released" reasons, I post on Demonoid.

That's what I did (by private message). It didn't work out (for technical reasons).

Then I asked here because there were links here to download the Norman Dolph acetate... Not officially released, I know, but close enough (for 6 songs - same takes, alternate mixes) to the official LP to be banned on Dime. Sorry if I was wrong.

Hey, maybe I should've asked for a 20 minutes special edit, not a second ever officially released, of Melody Laughter?

Like Vox said, "only a 20-minute difference"
That's true...but as we were discusing the fact that you are allowed to download that piece of music in some places and not in others makes the 20 minute quote seem a little out of place.

I don't think editing the length of a piece of music actually edits a forums rules at the same time...unless I'm missing something?

Let me just break the concersation down into bite sized chunks for you:
-I want to get hold of a recording here.
-You can't get hold of official recordings here.
-It's an edit, you can download them some places.
-Some places you can, some you can't. What difference does the fact you can from other places make to the rules here?
-20 minutes.
-Maybe you should try to download from somewhere that it's allowed.
-20 MINUTES!?
-

I'm well aware that the edit is very different to the original and to be honest, no where near as good:wink: !! The fact remains that if some places don't allow you to download a track because a small part of it has been officially released...then they don't allow you to download it!
