Former site of Poor Richards:

Former site of the Aardvark Cinamatique:

with the Second City right next door:

Former site of the original Kinetic Playground/Rainbo:

The new Kinetic:

The former home of the Quiet Knight (and the only original building still standing. It was on the second floor:)

come on people, go explore your hometown and take some pictures for us!!

But there are no stars in New York sky, they're all on the ground.

We should build a Google Map with all the Velvets' venues around the States... Where can I find a database with gigs, dates and venues?
Re: Old venues that the Velvets played in Chicago
I found all the chicago stuff by googling. Search for the names of the venues and the city (putting them in quotations helps - "poor richard's" instead of poor richard's, etc.) Most of the time I found them when people mentioned them in anecdotes, like "when I was in college, I used to always go to Bla Club at 123 Whatever street." Look at posters and advertisements too. It takes some work and a few hours but you'll eventually find a lot of information.
