Lou's new album

Post by marknaveh »

This appeared on a Patti list I get, I had to share it:

Subject: Absolutely NPC: Lou Reed's Meditation Music

We still haven't finalized the final release, but what he wants us to
release is a 65-minute drone and feedback piece with a spoken-word piece
over the top by his accupuncturist (with a very difficult-to-understand
Chinese accent). We're negotiating to at least include a second CD
without the spoken-word bit, maybe even the same piece of music without the
narration. The guitar noise part is cool--the spoken-word bit is kinda
annoying. R

Ah, Lou. If we're forced to listen to this with the spoken word, it might be too much of a challenge even for die-hards like me. And I liked the Raven.

Sorry, haven't gotten around to registering on the new forum yet.

Lou's been threatening us with this for a few years. At one point he was talking about it being a download from his site. Fingers crossed that he can be persuaded to go down the route of that 2nd disk without the spoken word. Guitar noise!

This sounds great, I have no qualms about a voiceover. An unintelligable Chinese guy sounds like a real interesting element to add to the blend. I agree that two discs would be preferable, if only 'cause you get more to enjoy.

The accupuncturist kept needling him.

Alright, stop groaning.

Chance, that is possibly the worst (best) pun I have ever seen in a Lou-related forum. You certainly should win a prize. The rest of us deserve Purple-Hearts for that one, though.
