Chris Spedding: The vital link between the Velvet Underground and Sha Na Na.
Get ready to have what's left of your mind blown. This is by far the best thing I have ever heard by Chris Spedding. And that doesn't even factor in the excellent guest appearences. Everything about this - the material, incredible rhythm section, utterly scorching guitars - hell, even the backup vocals are top-notch. But yeah, the GUITARS (Henry Gross as well as CS) are just stunning. By the end of Lone Rider you will know what I am talking about. Also, the guitar breaks are different from one set to the next even if the song order remains relatively the same. The Cale part is way-cool at both shows, but in the second show the song he does I don't recognize at all. It is sometimes referred to as John's Blues, but it ain't a blues tune and sounds like a written composition that the band is familiar with. And it's a menacing 8 minutes. The Gordon parts are also excellent, but are such a shift of gears that they almost belong somewhere else. I'll take em though. This is something special. SQ is, imho, excellent.
